Genus Characteristics<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Moderately sized, biconvex shell with clear radial ornament<\/li>\n
  • Many prominent concentric laminae, creates cross-hatched pattern<\/li>\n
  • Hole under the pedicle opening is triangular<\/li>\n
  • Shell shape ranges from subquadrate to subelliptical<\/li>\n
  • Dorsal interarea small<\/li>\n
  • Muscle scars on the ventral valve are heart-shaped, with the \u201copen\u201d part of the heart shape opening anteriorly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
