Characteristics of Genus<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • The North American descendent of Dalmanella<\/em><\/li>\n
  • Ventribiconvex (the two valves are both convex, but the \u201ctop\u201d valve with the beak is more convex<\/li>\n
  • Multicostellate to weakly fasciocostellate<\/li>\n
  • In the dorsal valve there is a well defined central costella (line)<\/li>\n
  • Under microscope, distinctive fine and course punctae visible<\/li>\n
  • Commonly confused with Dalmanella<\/em>, but Cincinnetina<\/em> is the genus found in the North America<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
