Upper Devonian (Frasnian)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Common Paleoecology<\/strong><br \/>\nDalmanellidae is an extinct family of stationary epifaunal suspension feeders<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description of the Family<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Normally subcircular<\/li>\n<li>Ventribiconvex (one valve is more convex than the other&gt;<\/li>\n<li>Unisulcate<\/li>\n<li>Fascicostellate (Costellate patterns &#8220;lumped into bundles&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>Straight or curved ventral and dorsal interarea<\/li>\n<li>If interior is visible, suboval, subtriangular to cordate muscle scars present<\/li>\n<li>Brachiophores usually simple blades<\/li>\n<li>Variably lobate cardinal process and shaft<\/li>\n<li>Generally earlier taxa have fulcral plates<\/li>\n<li>Adductor muscle scars rarely enclosed by diductor scars<\/li>\n<li>Median ridges, septa, partitions and platforms may develop sporadically in dorsal valve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">[accordions title=&#8221;&#8221;
