  • Medium to large size<\/li>\n
  • semicircular outline<\/li>\n
  • Fine ribs radiate from umbones of both valves toward commisure<\/li>\n
  • Strong teeth<\/li>\n
  • If a triangular calcareous plate, the symphytium, can be distinguished along the flat interarea of the concave (ventral) valve, then the specimen is Strophomena<\/em>, not Rafinesquina<\/em>.<\/li>\n
  • Squatter and more triangular cardinal process lobes<\/li>\n
  • Changes convexity along profile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
