- Shell small, subtrigonal, rounded in front, acuminate posteriorly and commonly obliquely truncate; umbonal fold rounded or carinate; beaks small; hinge plate semicircular, with several angular, crenulated teeth radiating more or less symmetrically from beneath the beak.
